Weighing. Brooklyn Bedding expands its accessories collection with a weighted blanket
PHOENIX – Vertically integrated sleep brand Brooklyn Bedding has expanded its line of sleep accessories with a chunky, hand-knit blanket.
The blanket is available in two weights – 10 pounds and 15 pounds – and in two colors, cream and gray. Retailing for $199 and $219 depending on weight, the blankets feature a polyester jersey knit fabric outer shell. Filled with a polyester fill, the open knit design of the blankets aids in airflow.
Weighted blankets have been shown to deliver therapeutic results from Deep Touch Therapy (DTP), a type of pressure stimulation that relaxes the parasympathetic nervous system. This type of therapy helps put the body into “rest mode” and promotes feelings of calm and relaxation. Weighted blankets have also been shown to help reduce stress by lowering cortisol levels and increasing serotonin levels.
Available on the Brooklyn Bedding website, the blankets measure 50 inches by 60 inches.
