Ulysse Nardin teams up with Beau Lake and creates a set of watches and paddle boards
Recently we have seen an incredible increase in the watch world of brands teaming up with other brands outside of the typical domains. Of course, there have been partnerships between the automotive and watch worlds for years, for example, but moving into other related categories such as fashion and lifestyle is a relatively young trend. He also becomes more and more creative. Swiss watch brand Ulysse Nardin, for example, has teamed up with Canadian waterfront luxury brand Beau Lake and the result is an $11,900 package consisting of a watch and even a stand-up. custom-made inflatable paddle (iSUP).
It is not uncommon for Ulysse Nardin to turn to the world of water for a watchmaking collaboration. After all, the brand has a rich nautical history that goes back almost to its roots. Plus, he supports all sorts of ocean-related causes, including the study of sharks and the preservation of clean water. Now, however, he’s taking his love of the water to new depths – one that targets a new client – with the partnership with Beau Lake.
Beau Lake manufactures luxury equipment for water lovers, especially iSUPs. As such, the collaboration carries rich rewards: a limited-edition water set that includes a new Ulysse Nardin Diver Chronometer 44mm watch with the Beau Lake logo on it and a deluxe iSUP with the Ulysse Nardin logo. Only 100 sets will be made, each selling for $11,900.
The Ulysse Nardin 44mm diver’s watch is crafted from lightweight blue PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) titanium and features a concave unidirectional rotating bezel for diving. Water-resistant to 300 meters, the watch is powered by the Manufacture Caliber UN-118 mechanical movement. The caliber is antimagnetic and equipped with a high-tech silicon and proprietary DIAMonSil escapement. It features the hours, minutes, seconds, date and power reserve indication. It’s finished with a blue rubber strap perfect for water sports and features the Beau Lake logo on a titanium accent plate.
The Beau Lake iSUP, an item that, like the watch, is performance-driven, is created using marine-grade PVC and new dual-layer drop-stitch fusion technology. The nautical paddleboard is lighter and stronger than in the past thanks to the high-tech process and materials. The board, fin and leash are all co-branded. The board weighs only 10 pounds and is 11 feet long and 34 inches wide (and 6 inches high when inflated).
The set is completed with a co-branded triple action pump to inflate the board, a foldable carbon fiber paddle and a repair kit. They are packaged in a stylish but sturdy travel bag equipped with wheels and shoulder straps.
