Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai Kuppusamy faces turmoil amid claims he wanted a sleazy gang on KT Raghavan
Almost a month after taking over as head of the Tamil Nadu BJP, the former IPS officer Annamalai faces problems amid rumbles with the party. Tensions arose after an audiotape was released earlier this week in which Mr Annamalai was allegedly heard giving the go-ahead for the release of a video that put a senior official in the dock, embarrassing him. left.
“The call is yours. How would you like to do it? If you post (the video), I would kick them all out in an hour or two. If you don’t post, that’s a bigger puzzle for me. . I have to show this to everyone, convince everyone and kick two out every month. Hope you understand, “he reportedly said in the video. NDTV could not independently verify the authenticity of the audio tape.
The conversation is linked to the alleged explicit video call of a top BJP leader with a party worker.
KT Raghavan, the secretary general of Tamil Nadu BJP and a senior RSS official, resigned from his post days ago, hours after footage of his alleged sleazy video call with the woman went viral.
Mr. Raghavan denied the allegations and called the undercover operation “an attempt to tarnish” him and the party.
The video was posted by YouTuber Madan Ravichandran, who has now been kicked out of the BJP along with his partner MS Venba. Mr Ravichandran alleged that he had evidence of sexual exploitation against 15 leaders of the BJP state unit.
“We have audio and video evidence against 15 leaders. The reason we released his (KT Raghavan’s) first is because he always projected himself as Mr. Clean everywhere.” , explains Mr. Ravichandran in his video.
The expelled YouTuber BJP says he only wanted an internal investigation, but only released video of the sting after Annamalai gave his consent.
Reacting to the controversy, party leader Khushbu Sundar said on Twitter that “the matter should be investigated”.
Did you see a woman at the party come over and complain about someone’s misbehavior? We stand with all women who are victims of sexual assault, whether they are partying or not. We are alongside women to empower them. And I’m surprised you didn’t read where I said “the matter should not be investigated” https://t.co/6zc5kjXGiw

The head of state of the BJP confirmed having met the journalists. He also ordered a probe. Another leader who did not want to be named said: “I don’t think there is a standoff between the leaders. Let’s wait for the investigation. I don’t blame Annamalai, even assuming the voice in the audio is his “.
K Annamalai, who left IPS to join politics, was appointed chairman of the Tamil Nadu state unit in July.
At 37, Annamalai Kuppusamy, is the youngest Tamil Nadu BJP president ever and he is the first to take office in Unity of State less than a year after joining the party.
