Stairs become a centerpiece with black paint and frog tape
If you have wooden stairs in a focal point of your home, like your entryway, in the living room, or near your kitchen, chances are you want to spruce up the look of it. I want to say hello, don’t we want to beautify everything in our lives?
The most traditional way to add some curb appeal to wooden steps is to tie a rug from the bottom up, but if you have a long staircase – or honestly, even a short rug – can be quite pricey, especially for some thing you are just going to walk. TikTok DIY hackers @mycrumblingsemi posted a video of a DIY stair runner on TikTok that is simple and beautiful.
Using masking tape to create a design and then painting an accent color on your wooden stairs is a perfect way to bring design to your staircase without spending an arm and a leg on a runner. If the paint starts to wear off, fade, or you get bored of the color, you can simply paint over it, being able to change your design at any time. It’s easy to clean because you can sweep and wipe dirt instead of dragging a vacuum up the stairs to clean a traditional carpet.
Hiding the design and implementing the painting of your stairs may be more tedious than laying down a runner for your wooden staircase, but you can rest assured that the results will be stunning!
