Skoda launches the Slavia midsize sedan in India. See the characteristics, the price
Czech automaker Skoda finally launched the Slavia today in India. Skoda Slavia is launched in five color options and three finishes, Active, Style and Comfort. Pre-bookings started today with the announcement of the launch of Skoda Slavia. It was the global launch of Slavia.
The premium 5-door mid-size sedan comes with distinctive round air vents, a contrasting color horizontal trim strip and raised wordmarks on the cabin. Long wheelbase, 16-inch alloy rims, vertical chrome grille, L-shaped headlights and bumpers with larger air intakes.
âSLAVIA will usher in a new era in the Indian market. We want to significantly increase our sales with SLAVIA and KUSHAQ. Our main goal is to make Å KODA the number one European brand in India, âsaid Thomas Schaefer, CEO of Skoda Auto.
Skoda Slavia is available in two engine formats 1.0 TSI and 1.5TSI with six airbags. The three-cylinder, one-liter petrol engine produces 113 hp and 175 Nm of torque. It is available with a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic transmission. The larger 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder produces 150 hp of power and 250 Nm of torque. It is available with a six-speed manual transmission and a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.
The low front portion of the car showcases a hexagonal Skoda grille, extending to the slim, well-defined headlamps which feature an L-shaped daytime running light strip. The coupe-style silhouette and long wheelbase are also visible, as well as a distinctive badge with the Skoda wordmark on the front fenders.
The sedan’s roofline tilts rearward, where it blends into the luggage compartment. The Skoda wordmark in capital letters and a rear apron with a chrome strip add an extra touch to the distinctive appearance of the model. In addition, reflectors on each side emphasize the width of the vehicle. Featuring the iconic Skoda C-shaped light design, the tail lights are split into two parts and extend to the trunk lid.
Skoda SLAVIA is based on the locally developed and produced MQB â A0-IN platform, designed to meet new, more stringent safety and emissions specifications, the company said.
âWhen we started, one of the group’s goals was to capture a 5% market share by 2025 with the Å KODA KUSHAQ, and now the SLAVIA, we are getting closer and closer to that goal,â said Gurpratap Boparai, Managing Director of Skoda Auto.
