Shiatzy Chen RTW Spring 2022
The “SC Circus” has arrived in town. Shiatzy Chen’s design director, Wang Chen Tsai-Hsia, was drawn to the melting pot aspect of these traveling troops for spring, but also by the sense of joy and wonder they carry in their trunks. from faraway places. She offered an opening parade of these performing characters on her digital show.
The look: The wardrobe of a circus magician, with its mix of fashions from other eras and places, with a hint of other performers and acts dotted with prints, decorative elements or in the color palette.

Quote to note: âWe are glamorous. We are brilliant. We maintain the balance. We don’t need a balance. We venture happily. We look forward to the next moment, âWang wrote in his collection notes, and that’s exactly the impression left by this exuberant cohort.
Highlights: Much like a disguise trunk, the collection consisted of composing the drama up or down to suit the occasion. The best pieces to win were surprisingly modern bloomers and flowy pants; tailored jackets and vests in decadent jacquards and brocades; her printed silk dresses, especially when worn open, for the look of a sleazy dandy wearing a dressing gown; slightly flared jackets. And, of course, shirts – especially those with mandarin collars – have become very versatile thanks to a range of additional collars and bows.
To take with: The label delivered the kind of high-end whimsy that can easily be distilled into commercial reality, down to a few tousled baklava.
