Review: dhb Women’s Aeron 2.0 Short Sleeve Jersey
Made from a soft, smooth recycled polyester fabric, the women’s Aeron 2.0 Short Sleeve Jersey from dhb breathes well and is very comfortable in hot weather. The fabric clings easily, though, and the cropped front means it’s really only suitable for wearing with bib shorts.
This 2.0 version of the Aeron is intended for “everyday use, from short training sessions to long days in the saddle”, according to Wiggle. Made from 80% recycled polyester, it’s also more durable than the previous model.
It’s designed to be sleek and streamlined, although dhb always suggests you size down for a performance fit. I’d say it runs a bit small, the size 16 I tested still being a pretty neat streamline fit on me, and I’m a 14-16 in high street clothing. That said, the silky smooth fabric has plenty of stretch and could definitely accommodate a wider frame and a variety of body types. It’s available in UK sizes 6-18 and five vibrant colours.
The sleeves have laser cut ends rather than a gripper and are exceptionally comfortable, staying in place and easily forgotten. The sleeves themselves are slightly longer than average – something to keep in mind if you have shorter arms.
Another thing to keep in mind is the length in the front: it is considerably shorter than the back. I measured the back length at 70cm and the front at 48cm. It is designed to be an optimal fit in a stretched aero position, but will not suit everyone. I have a proportionally shorter than average body for my height, and even on me the front was really short.
The rear offers plenty of coverage, but the front is very tall, and if you’re taller than me (I’m 5ft 5in) or have a much longer body, you might find it quite irritating. It also limits you to wearing the jersey with shorts, as even high-waisted shorts can catch on the bottom of the jersey.
In terms of performance, the fabric and sleek fit were perfect for hot, wet, hilly riding, wicking sweat away quickly and efficiently. The extra ventilation mesh panels running down the back area on each side also do a good job, and the jersey dries fast enough to keep you from cooling down on descents.
You get three decent-sized back pockets and an additional zipped pocket, although it’s quite small – it’s not big enough for an iPhone 7 without a case, so better for a wallet or card and keys.
Although the fabric is soft against the skin and does a great job of keeping you cool, it snags very easily, so keep it away from velcro and rough edges – and be very careful when sticking it in the wash .
Compared to other performance-oriented jerseys using recycled yarn, the dhb Aeron looks good value at its full price of £60 – and it’s currently discounted to £42.
It’s on par with the entry-level Craft Cadence women’s QOM recycled performance jersey at £59.99, but £29 less than the CHPT3 Most Days women’s performance jersey (down to £89 since Emma tested it last year), and a substantial £39 less than the Shutt VR Women’s Stockholm Jersey (now £99).
The fabric in this jersey is great performing and exceptionally comfortable, plus great value for money, but the fit won’t suit everyone, especially if you like to wear waist shorts as well as bibs.
Comfortable and efficient in hot weather, although the fit isn’t for everyone and the smooth recycled fabric snags easily

dhb says: “Tackle your summer rides in style in the new dhb Aeron 2.0 women’s short sleeve jersey. epic days in the saddle.
Note: We recommend going down a size for a more compressive and performance fit.
dhb has revamped its most popular jersey, making it more durable and better than ever. Designed for everyday use, from short training sessions to long days in the saddle, it now has a sleeker look, with modern stitching lines and a minimal collar.
The hero of this recreated runner favorite is the recycled main fabric. Lightweight and durable, with a subtle scratch, it performs even better than its less durable predecessor. Exceptionally breathable and moisture wicking, dhb has also given it an antibacterial treatment to keep it fresh between washes.
Large mesh panels run from the armpits, diagonally down the back to the top of three pockets, increasing breathability to keep you comfortable longer. This new construction gives the rear of the jersey an eye-catching look, while improving the fit in your riding position.
dhb has completed the modernization of this jersey by removing the arm grip tape and replacing it with laser cut sleeve openings, providing a seamless look between the jersey and your skin. A high-performance top that’s form-fitting without being restrictive, making it the perfect partner for every ride.”

Worked great to keep me dry and comfortable in hot weather.
Rate the product for durability:
The sleek, smooth polyester fabric works well and is soft to wear, but is very prone to snags.
Rate product for fit:
Good shape and fit, with plenty of stretch in the fabric to suit different body shapes, but the cropped front won’t suit all torso lengths or riding styles.
Rate product for size:
Slightly small size for the indicated size. dhb recommends sizing down for a performance fit; I would say stick with your usual unless you want it super neat.

Evaluate the product for its value:
Very good value for money at full price, and especially at its current reduced price.
Is the product easy to maintain? How did it react to the wash?
Prone to snagging, so keep away from velcro or rough edges. Washes well, but worth putting a laundry bag in if you also have velcro in the wash.
Tell us how the product performed overall when used as intended
Very efficient in hot weather.
Tell us what you particularly liked about the product
Smooth efficient fabric, choice of colors, lack of grip on sleeves, warm weather comfort, recycled content, good value.
Tell us what you particularly disliked about the product
The fabric is a little flimsy and tends to snag, and the front hem is way too high for my liking and wouldn’t suit someone with a longer torso.
How does the price compare to similar products on the market, including those recently tested on road.cc?
It’s on par with the Craft Cadence Women’s QOM Recycled Performance Shirt at £59.99, but £29 less than the Women’s CHPT3 Most Days Performance Shirt (down to £89 since Emma bought it) tested last year), and £39 less than the Women’s Stockholm Shutt VR Jersey (now £99).
Did you enjoy using the product? Yes, but the cut irritated me a bit.
Would you consider purchasing the product? Probably not, because of that high forehead.
Would you recommend the product to a friend? Probably, especially if they only wore bib shorts, always rode on the drops, and had a short torso.

The fit won’t suit everyone, but if it does, it’s fine – an incredibly comfortable and efficient jersey for riding in hot weather, and good value for money. The eco-friendly element is also appealing.
