Police register burnt down house in Stoke-on-Trent after finding cannabis factory

Police have opened an investigation after a fire at a cannabis factory resulted in residents being evacuated from their homes.
Emergency services were called to a townhouse on Buccleuch Road in Normacot at 8:30 p.m. last night.
As StokeonTrentLive reported, five fire trucks were called to the scene to tackle the blaze and neighboring properties were evacuated.

The Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed crews from Longton, Hanley and Sandyford witnessed the blaze – which they are treating as ‘accidental’. The firefighters left the scene around 10:30 p.m.
Now Staffordshire Police are checking via CCTV after revealing there is a cannabis crop on the property.
A spokesperson said: “We were called by colleagues from the fire service to report a fire at a suspected cannabis crop on Buccleuch Road, Normacot, shortly before 9 p.m. last night. Officers helped secure the area. area. Investigations, including the evaluation of CCTV, are ongoing. “
A PCSO attended the scene this morning with police tape also outside the property.
