Morrisons Launches Fully Reusable Halloween Costume Line
// Morrisons Launches Reusable Halloween Costumes Aiming To Make Spookiest Night Of The Year Longer Lasting
// The full line of costumes are made from responsibly sourced fabrics and recycled polyester from plastic bottles
Morrisons is launching a line of fully reusable Halloween costumes for kids with the goal of creating a more durable Halloween for shoppers.
Thousands of Halloween costumes end up in landfills every year, bought once and then thrown away, according to the supermarket chain’s research. Majority of them are made from plastic based materials including polyester.
In a supermarket first, the move means that all new costumes in the line will be machine washable for the first time, allowing customers to reuse and pass on the costumes, eliminating the need for single-use purchases.

In addition to making the costumes machine washable, all of this year’s costumes will now be made from 100% responsibly sourced fabrics as well as recycled polyester made from plastic bottles.
Morrisons has also phased out all plastic hangers in the line and replaced them with a cardboard version in an effort to make Halloween more durable this year.
Morrisons Director of Purchasing Jodie Glew said: “Listening to customers we know that while they love Halloween and the drama that comes with dressing up, it’s really important for them to make the event more sustainable. . So we’ve worked hard with our team this year to create a range that is not only made from 100% responsibly sourced materials, but can also be machine washed, reducing waste and encouraging reuse. year after year. “
Morrisons Halloween costumes are now available at most Morrisons stores.
