Michael Keaton to return as Batman in next DC movie

Caped Crusader fans, rejoice! Michael Keaton officially returns to his role as Batman.
However, CBR confirms that Keaton’s return will only be an appearance in the upcoming movie “The Flash”, not a starring role in his own standalone feature film.
Still, many are excited for the actor to take out Gotham’s most seedy characters again.
Keaton first appeared as a jaded millionaire-turned-masked criminal in Tim Burton’s 1989 film adaptation, “Batman.” The film received critical acclaim, with Keaton’s portrayal of Bruce Wayne sparking renewed interest in the beloved comic book character across the generations.
Rumors of Keaton’s potential return as Batman first surfaced over the summer, hinting at DC’s plans to launch its own multiverse through its film franchises (a DC multiverse has already been set. successfully implemented in his television series such as “Arrow’s” “Crisis on Infinite Earth“).
Screen Rant Reports that while little is yet known about how the DC Multiverse actually works in the storylines of its Expanded Cinematic Universe, fan speculation remains limitless. After all, six DC films are slated for release in 2021-2023, leaving plenty of opportunities for various characters to clash.
One thing that’s absolutely confirmed, however, is that “The Batman” – which features Robert Pattinson as the main character with Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman – is a completely stand-alone feature. This means Pattinson’s Batman is outside the realm of the DC Multiverse and therefore won’t be seen alongside Keaton anytime soon.
Further information on one of the upcoming DC film franchises is pending.
