Kim Kardashian threatened to sue Roblox for clickbait ‘sex tape’

Kim Kardashian has threatened to sue Roblox, after her son discovered an image of the star’s crying face in-game, as part of an ad that suggested it was for “Kim’s new sex tape”.
On a recent episode of The Kardashians (titled “Burn Them All to the Fucking Ground”), Kim appeared upset and confused when her son, Saint West, alerted her to his discovery.
When Saint explained that the ad was in a Roblox game, Kim immediately replied, “Oh, it’s a game? So we’re suing them if it’s a game with my name and picture.” Kim went on to say that the ad in question claimed to contain additional never-before-seen footage from her 2007 sex tape.
The clip itself was shared on Twitter by ShannonSharpeee (thanks, Kotaku) and can be viewed below.

In the same episode, Kim went into more detail about what she saw on her son’s device.
“It was a clickbait insinuating that if you clicked on it, a new sex tape was going to come out,” she said.
“If my son had been a little older and could read, I would have been mortified, but I […] dead inside.”
She also called Saint’s father to talk about the situation.
“Saint was on Roblox yesterday and a damn thing popped up and he started laughing and was like ‘mommy look’ and it was a picture of my crying face,” Kim cried (via Polygon).
“And it was a game someone made of Roblox and it said ‘Kim’s New Sex Tape’ when you clicked on it.”
Kim ended the episode by saying, “I’ve got all the time, all the money, and all the resources to burn ’em all to the fucking ground” (and that’s how the episode got its name).
After the show aired on April 14, Roblox released a statement regarding the announcement.
“The referenced video was never available on our platform. We have strict moderation and policies to protect our community, including zero tolerance for sexual content of any kind that violates our Community Rules,” the statement read.
“The textual reference to the band that bypassed our filters was quickly removed and thankfully only visible to an extremely limited number of people on the platform. We also quickly removed the associated experience and banned the developer from the community involved in the incident.”
This isn’t the first time Roblox has made headlines for its content. In February this year, the BBC published a report showing that Roblox contains sexually explicit games often referred to as “condos”. Here players can discuss sexually explicit topics and engage in virtual sex.
Meanwhile, last December, the People Make Games video channel investigated the developer of Roblox, leading to some disturbing revelations about child safety.
