Idaho Big Game Controlled Hunt App, deadline June 5
Attention all hunters, just a friendly reminder that the deadline to apply for a controlled hunt is Saturday June 5th. If you want to hunt deer, elk, American antelope, fall bear, or fall turkey, you better get these apps.
Fortunately, I had my hunts today, Friday June 4th. You can put your controlled hunt in online or at the athlete’s warehouse. I use it every year against the American antelope, deer and elk. It’s been 3 smelly years since I drawn for anything frustrating. But I know it’s hit or miss. When I drew I struggled to fill in my tag because let’s face it, I’m just not a great hunter.
However, I really like the hunt and the taste of all meats. If you’re an avid hunter, you’ve probably been on your controlled hunts before, but it’s always nice to have a reminder.
For those who want to set up for moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goat you only have June 15th to June 25th. Heard it was ridiculously hard to use, but hey, more power for you. I have never eaten any of these animals, but I am not against it.
Congratulations also to those who want to go out and hunt the fall bear. It scares me so I’m not planning on putting this on anytime soon.
Again, don’t forget to register for your hunts, the deadline is near.
