Bomb squad take to the streets of Edinburgh as forensic officers check in the house

A bomb squad surrounded a property on a quiet residential street in Edinburgh in a raid.
Police officers descended on the house in Peveril Terrace on Wednesday, November 17, alongside a unit specializing in mine clearance on the street in The Inch district of the city.
A firearm was seized from the property.

It is understood that agents remain present outside the property, which has been taped.
Neighbors say “tents” were put up late last night, Edinburgh Live reports.
They added that the police presence had been stepped up in the past 24 hours after Wednesday’s raid.
In one image, officers in forensic dress can be seen at the scene.
Scottish police said: ‘Officers executed a search warrant on property in Peveril Terrace in Edinburgh on Wednesday 17th November.
“There has been no ongoing incident and no risk to the general public at any time.
“A gun was seized from the property and taken to safety.
